Stanley Sirimanne
Stanley Sirimanne, a distinguished alumnus of St. Mary's College, Dehiwela, proudly represented his school in boxing from 1984 to 1989. Under the expert guidance of coaches Mr. Nelson and Millon de Kauwe, Stanley honed his skills and became a formidable competitor in the ring.
During his early years, Stanley showcased his talent at prestigious events, including the L.V. Jayaweera Boxing Meet at Peradeniya University in 1984 and the T.B. Jayah Memorial Boxing Meet at Old Boys' College, Kotahena, in 1985. He also represented St. Mary's College in the Stubbs Shield Boxing Competitions held at the Police Depot, Thimbirigasyaya, as well as at the Intermediate Indoor Stadium and various Police Depot venues. Stanley's career was marked by numerous memorable bouts, including several intense matches against St. Sylvester's College, Kandy, which highlighted his courage, technique, and unwavering sportsmanship. His dedication and passion for boxing not only brought pride to St. Mary's College but also left a lasting impression on the Sri Lankan boxing community.
