W. W. K. Alwis

A Dedicated Contributor to Sri Lankan Boxing

W. W. K. Alwis is a respected boxer, coach, and long-serving member of Sri Lanka's boxing community. His journey spans over four decades, marked by excellence both inside the ring and as a mentor.

Career & Service

He boxed for leading clubs including YMCA Colombo, YMCA Kandy, Taj Samudra, and the Colombo Boxing Club from 1980-1991. Later, he served as Coach of the Maharagama Boxing Club (1995-2011) and President College Maharagama (1999-2011), shaping many young athletes. He has been a Member of the Sri Lanka Boxing Coaches Association (2003-2025) and completed coaching courses in Sri Lanka and a Diploma in India (2011).
