Sujeewa Siriwardane
Assistant Superintendent of Police Sujeewa Siriwardane is a distinguished figure in Sri Lankan boxing, renowned not only for his achievements in the ring but also for pioneering the introduction of boxing at Nalanda College, Colombo. Siriwardane's boxing career is marked by consistent excellence: he was National Runner-Up in 1988, 1989, and 1990, and crowned National Champion in 1992. At major school-level tournaments, he was Leyton Cup Runner-Up (1988), Clifford Cup Runner-Up (1988 & 1991), and Per Sonnaby Challenge Cup Winner (1990). Internationally, he represented Sri Lanka as part of the Junior National Team in Sweden in 1990, where he secured a silver medal. Beyond his personal accolades, Sujeewa Siriwardane's greatest contribution lies in his role as the key person to establish boxing at Nalanda College, laying the foundation for generations of young boxers to come.
