Army and national boxing champion, will forever be remembered as one of the most disciplined and determined pugilists to emerge from the golden era of Sri Lankan boxing. Following in the footsteps of his elder brother-the undefeated featherweight champion K.A.D. Luxman Bandulasena built a legacy defined by dedication, resilience, and excellence.

His untimely passing in December 2021, at the age of 62, marked the end of a remarkable sporting journey that began at St. Matthew's College, Dematagoda. Bandulasena's passion for boxing was ignited during his school days under the mentorship of the late T.G. Somapala, one of Sri Lanka's most respected boxing coaches who produced numerous national champions. Under Somapala's expert guidance, young Bandulasena developed exceptional technical skill, lightning-fast reflexes, and an unbreakable fighting spirit that quickly set him apart from his peers. After completing his school career at Ananda College, Bandulasena enlisted in the Sri Lanka Army, where he continued to refine his craft and represent the Forces with pride and honor. Competing in both the featherweight and lightweight divisio ns, he achieved the rare distinction of becoming a national champion in both categories a testament to his adaptability, endurance, and mastery of the sport.

Known for his precision, courage, and tactical brilliance inside the ring. Bandulasena earned the coveted title of "Best Boxer" at a national championship one of the highest honors a Sri Lankan boxer can receive. Beyond his triumphs, Bandulasena was admired for his humility, sportsmanship, and generosity toward younger athletes. He never hesitated to share his knowledge and experience, inspiring a new generation of boxers to dream big, train hard, and fight fair. K.A.D. Bandulasena's name will forever stand tall among Sri Lanka's boxing greats a true ring warrior who gave his heart and soul to the sport he loved.
